Stewardship Fair Feedback
Old Business:
A. Donny did speak with Regis. He also went to the website to get ideas for the lay witness talks. He suggested Rebecca Ford as another possible speaker. Fr. Warren welcomes as many as who would like to speak. Sheryl said she spoke with Tom and he would like to respectfully refuse at this time. David and Stacy Sanger were suggested as a potential couple to share. Brenda will speak with them. We are looking at 3 masses, 2 in Larned and 1 in Belpre. It was suggested that Fr. take the 1st Sunday to lay out what the 4 Pillars of Stewardship are and lay the foundation for the next 3 weeks of Lay Witness talks.
B. Brenda brought samples of the form for review. A few corrections were suggested. Donny suggested having 2 weeks lead time for optimum. Fr. Warren suggested 750 copies to allow that 1 would be mailed to each household and includes a copy of the Stewardship Booklet. Donny volunteered to assist with the printing since that is his expertise. We need to get corrections to Brenda prior to the next meeting.
C. Mary K. will email Eric and ask about the Stewardship Posters. If all will agree, we’ll need to know what date they would be available.
D. Mary K. asked about the language of the Heart to Heart Ministry. We agreed that it captured the intent of the proposed ministry. Sheryl offered a suggestion to add another line that says it could be displayed in many different manners.

- Article for Bulletin
Stewardship is about gifts to share, Time/Talent
The reward is not for yourself, it's helping others.
Involvement makes you part of the family.
Mary -has not prepared the Stewardship notes for the
Bulletin. Pam publishes the bulletin on Thursdays, so
the submission needs to be done with that deadline in mind.
Brenda - Requested clarification regarding the Commitment
forms. Fr. Warren suggested Googling the internet to look at
different forms for varying formats. Donny noted that the
DOC service was not listed on the Stewardship Activities.
Mary noted that she and Sr. Rebecca plan
on attending Great Bend's stewardship Fair on 8/16. Mary
will email the date and time in case anyone wants to attend.
We discussed ways to share stewardship ideals and agreed
that Sacred Heart Parish is not large enough to support a
fair. Fr. Warren shared an option to have short
presentations after Communion. Mary K. prepared a directory
with contact people listed and requested help in confirming
names.
Sheryl and Mary K. - Mary passed out a copy of the Directory
to each member. She based the format on a directory she had
from St. Anne's Parish in Wichita.
Sheryl asked if any of the different committees have their
own Mission Statement.
Liturgy Commission contact needs to be changed .
Endowment Board - new person has not yet been assigned.
Adult Religious Formation - Sr. Rebecca or Sr. Irene

Brenda Langdon - 3
Mary Mitchell - 1
Donny Kazmaier - 2
Sheryl Giessel - 2
Elaine Coulson - 1
b) Include youth in Stewardship Program?
We discussed initiation of a monthly youth mass
We discussed incorporating youth activities in teh Time/Talent form. Fr. Warren suggested making a different colored line that is geared toward the youth. It was brought out that during the Young Adult social, mothers requested year round Children's Liturgy of the Word. This would be an area for youth to sign up to volunteer rather than being assigned.
c) Elaine will work on writing a Stewardship Prayer.
d) Dates to remember:
August 23rd - Stewardship Conference in Dodge City.

Meeting attendees: Barbara Hammond, Mary Klinge, Sally Dreiling, Lee Gilcris, Fr. Warren, Kathy Kazmaier
Opening Prayer
As we begin our meeting, let us make our prayer these words written by St. Ita (d. ca. 570):
“Three things that please God most are true faith in God with a pure heart, a simple life with a grateful spirit, and generosity inspired by charity. The three things that most displease God are a mouth that hates people, a heart harboring resentments, and confidence in wealth.”

Heart to Heart Ministry: The purpose of this ministry is to reach out to parishioners who need a listening ear, some emotional support and friendship. The possibilities for reaching out are endless and it is the role of the commission to determine the focus and how to best reach out to those in need.
This new ministry is currently under formation and the first contact person is the parish secretary. The number is 285-2025.
