Stewardship Council

The Stewardship Council for Sacred Heart Parish was established in June, 2014 with the general responsibility to promote stewardship awareness and the annual stewardship renewal.
Stewardship is defined as the grateful response of a Christian disciple who recognizes and receives God's gifts and shares these gifts in love of God and neighbor.

The four Pillars of Stewardship include Hospitality, Prayer, Formation and Service.

Some of the responsibilities of this Council include:

1. Carry out stewardship renewal on an annual basis.
2. Promote stewardship within the Parish throughout the year.
3. Prepare and maintain a time and talent list
4. When parishioners volunteer, ensure that they are contacted to
become involved.
5. Evaluate the program on an annual basis.

Mary Klinge called the meeting to order and shared a special prayer.

  1. The December minutes were approved.

  2. Old Business

Mary K provided an update on the status of sending out Thank You cards.  She has sent cards to both those people who are discontinuing a ministry and those who signed up for a new ministry.  The new ministers were told they would be receiving a call from someone to schedule training.

  1. Mary suggested that we remove the option of discontinuing Altar Society membership since all women over the age of 18 are automatically members.  She suggested that there might be options for the type of involvement in that column.

  1. New Business

  1. 2017 Goals were discussed.  We discussed the timeframe and thought the 2nd weekend in October might be a good time.  (October 14th)  Mary M. will check with the County Clerk’s office for availability.  An alternative date would be 10/7.

  2. Reminder for Annual church cleaning dates agreed upon in May, 2016 were March 11, 2017 for the Spring cleaning and October 21, 2017 for the Fall cleaning.

  3. Brenda asked if we would want to have the Update dinner where all the Commissions and Committees met to provide a status update.  August 16th was the date suggested.  Mary K will check with Mo Schaller regarding availability.

  4. Update on streamlining the Stewardship Forms was tabled secondary to Donnie’s absence.

  1. Closing Prayer - Adjournment

Date of next meeting:  February 9, 2017 at 6:30 PM

The meeting was adjourned with Fr. Warren leading us in The Glory Be.
