Sacred Heart Pastoral Council minutes
Conference Room
February 16, 2017
Members Present: Jeff Murphy, Dennis Theis, Stephan Schartz, John Kelty, Philip Hammeke, Berny Unruh, Sister Rebecca, Father Warren.
Unable to attend: Amy Froetschner
Dennis called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. The members recited the Pastoral Council prayer. The agenda and minutes were approved.
Old Business
Dennis asked if there have been any comments shared about the Church being locked. Discussion was held. No further damage has taken place. The Church finance commission has also discussed the situation.
Father Warren reviewed information about the Vibrant Ministries Campaign. Father and Pam will be attending an update on the Campaign at St. Pat’s in Great Bend. Father will share a date for a future meeting here at Sacred Heart for the Council and some of the other commissions to attend.
New Business:
Father shared updates on the CRE Job Position.
Dennis reported that it is the goal of the Council to have the ballot ready in May and the election will take place in June. New members will begin their duties in July.
Dennis moved and it was seconded by Philip that item “F” under Finance and Property Commission should read “Members of this commission are appointed by the Pastor”. Motion passed with 5 votes and one member did not vote.
Dennis asked that everyone think ahead to the Commission Elections. The Council and Commissions members and their term limits were reviewed and those with expiring terms will be contacted. Philip will contact those whose terms are expiring but are eligible for another term. Philip will also check with Pam for names on the stewardship forms that were sent in. The names of the interested members will be brought to the next meeting and Council members are also asked to bring new member ideas to the April meeting.
The meeting concluded with members praying “Glory be to the Father”.
Next meeting will be April 20, 2017 @ 6:30 pm in the Parish Center Conference Room.
