Dennis called the meeting to order at 6:33 pm. Together members recited the Pastoral Council Prayer.
The October agenda and minutes from the September meeting were approved.
Old Business:
Reports: Father Warren reported on the parking lot. Grass will be planted later in the spring. The concrete in the front of the church has been completed. The K of C will have a light installed for the flag soon. The lights will be on from dusk to dawn.
Discussion was again held on a child care program during mass. If there are young couples who would like to attend mass together and would attend regularly if child care were offered, we are interested in getting the program started. It would also be necessary to find out if there might be people who do not have children who might be interested in helping with child care. A letter was sent to families with young children and we had little response but it would still be worth asking again in different venues. Sister Rebecca will speak about this at a Saturday night mass after communion.
The council would still be interested in working with the PSR committee or other another interested committee to further this discussion topic. If one life could be touched it would be worth it.
New Business:
Father shared about the Vibrant Ministries Campaign. There is a Goal of $10 million for the diocese. Presently there is work with Dodge City, Spearville, Wright and Ingalls as pilot parishes. The fund would assist with religious education, seminarians, priest retirement, campus ministry and other needs.
The meeting concluded with members praying “The Lord’s Prayer”.
Next meeting will be November 17, 2016 @ 6:30 pm in the Parish Center Conference Room.
Meeting was adjourned.
